Sophie Harwood Art will provide the Client with a written quotation for the requested artwork. This quotation includes the cost of materials, estimated hours of work, and any additional charges that may apply. Prices are subject to change based on the complexity of the project but will be agreed upon before the commencement of work.
Acceptance of the commission must be made in writing (email is acceptable). By accepting the commission, the Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
A non-refundable booking fee of 25% of the total quoted price is required to secure the commission and begin work. This booking fee will be deducted from the final payment.
For commissions based on photographs, the Client must provide high-quality, clear photos. The quality of the commissioned piece is directly related to the quality of the provided photograph. Sophie Harwood Art reserves the right to reject any photo that does not meet the necessary quality standards.
Sophie Harwood Art retains copyright to the commissioned artwork from the Client's photo. Sophie Harwood Art reserves the right to share on their social media and website.
The completion time for a commission varies and is dependent on my current workload, the complexity of the commissioned piece, and the size of the artwork. An estimated completion date will be provided when the commission is accepted. However, this is an estimate and not a guarantee. Sophie Harwood Art will ensure they communicate regularly with The Client to keep them up to date with their commission.
The balance of the payment is due upon completion of the artwork, before shipping or delivery. The artwork will not be shipped or delivered until the final payment has been received. Payment is taken via BACS and an invoice will be sent to the Client's email.
As a result of having different screens across devices, the colours may vary of the artwork or prints to how you view it on your own device.
For artworks that have a colour background, portraits come with a blank border a few millimetres thick on each side where the paper was taped to my desk, this also makes it possible to pick the drawing up without disturbing / touching any of the colour itself. Please keep in mind that this will very slightly reduce the portrait size when coming to choose a picture mount for your frame. Professional framers should be able to factor this in.
Sophie Harwood Art reserves the right to share the commissioned artwork on social media and for portfolio purposes, unless specifically requested otherwise by the Client in writing (email is acceptable).
If the artwork is a surprise gift, please let the Artist know at the time of booking, the Artist will only share artwork on social media once the artwork is gifted.
Sophie Harwood Art will need to collect the following information: client’s name, email and address, as described in my Privacy Policy. This will be used for commission correspondence, invoices and delivery of product. The client's name will be stored to keep track of orders and to comply with proof of income regulations set out by HMRC.
Once the client receives the artwork, any photographs provided for the commission will be deleted.
The Client may terminated the commission request within 7 days of the initial deposit payment. In such cases, the deposit will not be refunded but may be applied to future commissions. If Sophie Harwood Art must cancel the commission due to unforeseen circumstances, the deposit will be fully refunded to the Client.
